Dr. Lizzie Benge is a sleep medicine physician and a faculty member at Harvard Medical School’s Division of Sleep and Circadian Disorders. She specializes in the treatment of sleep apnea, restless legs syndrome, circadian rhythm disorders, disorders of central hypersomnolence (narcolepsy, idiopathic hypersomnia), and insomnia. In her clinical practice, Dr. Benge is dedicated to improving patient outcomes through personalized treatment plans and the latest advancements in sleep medicine.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Benge serves as a co-investigator at BWH-Faulkner in the National Institutes of Health (NIH) RECOVER-SLEEP study which investigates new-onset sleep symptoms that developed in the setting of Long-COVID. This pivotal research includes two focal points: RECOVER-SLEEP Hypersomnia, which investigates the efficacy of Modafinil and Solriamfetol, and RECOVER-SLEEP Complex Sleep Disturbances, exploring the combined use of melatonin and light therapy.
